This is a video installation, where the screenings from two beamers (projectors) are directed one against other, from both sides of a range of 10 pieces of low transparency nylon sheets (please, see the picture above). My idea is: to project from one side images, artifacts and portraits of people from West European countries, and from the other side – the same, but from East European countries. Those two images somehow fade in each other; slowly and precisely turn themselves into the other one without any border between them. We can say this installation is a metaphoric image of the influence that these two worlds, East and West Europe, have exerted on each other through the centuries. It also is an example of how Ing transforms into Yan.
The nylon sheets have to be very tiny, so that they could fly in the light wind, as a result of the visitors moving in the surrounding environment. On the nylon sheets are drown maps of the countries from East Europe to West Europe.
