Description: This is a little corridor 3 meters long with hundreds of silicon penises, which stick up from the walls. This corridor is positioned in a place, where the people have to pass and there is no possibility to take other way to let pass it. The space between the walls so tiny and tight, that there is place just for a person. There is no light in the space, but the visitors have to pass it without help of anything, but their hands. If they want to pass, they have to draw fingers over the walls and to feel these "thousands" of male sex attributes, but will not see them. Near to the installation is a book for the visitor's impressions.
Conception: There is no conception. Neno just wants to provoke and to shake the minds of the audiences. But this is not completely true, because actually that very provocative installation renovates the discourse about what the art is. In that sequence of thoughts – the question is: Is this really an art peace? And why: because the artist always does art or because if the artist says: this is art – this is art? Or here is other reason / reasons? Or this is not an art? But if somebody really wants to answer these questions, he first has to answer the question: What is the art? And here is the point, which is interesting for Neno, because he believes there is no answer to this question, because the definition about art has a long story through the history and we could see how many definitions about art have been given by the mankind. Neno believes the reason about this is that the art is something alive and it changes all the time. This is very difficult task to define something that will not be the same after your definition; it means that you have made a definition of something different. But those are not reasons for the mankind to stop to try to understand the art.
Expected outcomes: Neno hopes the visitors will have really strange and uncomfortable feelings when they will pass this little corridor. He expects it will go against their understanding about what is the art. Neno expects minimum 10 notes of protest and disagreement by old ladies on the gallery's director's desk and maybe some aggressive acts made by young conservators. ;-) !
