Combining artistic expression and media of ancient Thracian art and contemporary art and proficiently handling them, STREET ART-MUSEUM EXHIBIT is a project, which derides understanding of culture and art in some circles in the Bulgarian society. Besides that the project provokes bystanders to rethink their stance on contemporary art as well as their understanding of culture as a whole, it is also able to show them that art can be found anywhere, even in a rubbish bin.
description: At the bottom of the garbage bin is placed a golden burial mask of a cartoon character, executed in the style of ancient Thracian and ancient Greek funerary masks (examples: the mask of Tzar Teres or the mask of King Agamemnon). Trash bin is covered with a thick plexiglass, on which a text is printed concerning the place and circumstances of the mask "discovery", its dating, cultural-anthropological description. Under the plexiglass, there is a lamp that illuminates the mask during evening and night time, but so disguised, that it does not shine in the eyes of viewers. (please, see the picture above!)
